Key Features

  • Officially designated as a national heritage, "Edo kiriko" is a Japanese traditional craftwork developed in downtown Tokyo during the Edo period (1603-1867). Melted in 1350 degrees heat, transparent glass is plated with colored glass, creating two layers. Edo kiriko craftsmen, then, cut each glass by hand, curving fine designs with their remarkable technique. Two shades of contrasting colors reflect the light beautifully, accentuated by traditional or flower patterns curved on the surface.
  • The "Kenbishi pattern" has lines that look like swords. Considered as a sacred object in Japanese tradition, the sword is a symbol against evil spirits.

Use & Care

  • There may be slight differences in color and size, since these products are all hand made. There may also be small bubbles or scratches. They don't affect the quality of the products. Enjoy the uniqueness of hand-made glasses.
  • Be careful when handling it as it is fragile.
